My name is Amy, and I’m an audiologist. I believe connection matters most — to the people we love, to the world around us, and to ourselves — and I’ve dedicated my career to helping people stay connected through better hearing.
Today I serve as Director of Consumer Education & Audiology at HearingTracker, where I help consumers navigate hearing loss, hearing technology, and their care options with clear, trustworthy information. Whether it’s hearing aids, cochlear implants, assistive technology, or tinnitus, my goal is simple: to help you make confident, informed decisions about your hearing health.
How I Got Here
I earned my Doctor of Audiology from the University of Iowa and completed my fourth-year residency at the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences in Jacksonville, Florida. From there, I provided hearing care for adults in clinical settings — including the Michigan Ear Institute and serving the Veteran population through Optum — before moving into consumer education full time.
For nearly four years, I was Lead Audiologist at Soundly, where I created video and written content on all things audiology and supported thousands of consumers on their hearing care journeys. That chapter taught me just how much good information can change someone’s experience of hearing care — and how much unmet need there still is.
Since 2022, I’ve also served on the Forbes Health Advisory Board, where I review and consult on hearing health content. My perspective has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Forbes Health, People, and on NPR’s 1A — you can find more on my media page.
Why I Do This
It’s been my privilege to help so many people reconnect with the sounds that make life rich: children playing in the backyard, conversations with family and friends, the confidence to fully participate in a meeting. When hearing fades, that connection can fade with it — but with the right information and the right care, it can come back.
Hearing care is changing fast, from OTC hearing aids to remote care to rapidly improving technology. My job is to help you cut through the noise and find what actually works for you.
Dr. Amy Sarow earned her Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University and her AuD from the University of Iowa, and completed her residency at the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences in Jacksonville, Florida. She lives in Crestline, California.
